The Scarlet Lace Peekaboo Dress from Kitten D'Amour is definitely my favourite dress at the moment. You may recall that I posted it on my wishlist a few weeks ago here but I never expected to end up owning it.  It retailed at $329 and, although completely stunning and excellent quality, I certainly cannot justify spending that amount on a single piece. However, the dress finally came on sale (which was surprising because such a small number of the Kitten D'Amour collection ever comes on sale). At 40% off, and being my dream dress, I simply couldn't resist adding it to my collection. I know I'll wear it many times in the future including to a wedding in January and also on Christmas day. The dress itself is so beautiful and delicate. I adore the tie bow and the lace overlay. I love it more than words can explain. My experience with the delivery of the dress was very disappointing, however. I had intended to wear it to an event last Friday. I ordered the dress from the Kitten D'Amour website and inquired as to whether it would arrive in time. I was assured it would and placed the order on Tuesday of last week. I paid for express post just to be sure. However, it didn't arrive in time and I was very upset I couldn't wear this dress to the event. The dress was apparently posted on the Wednesday and didn't arrive until the following Monday. As a regular customer of Kitten D'Amour and, having paid express and inquiring beforehand, I just expected more. Kitten D'Amour are all sweet and over the top with the customer service when everything is going well, but when it comes to admitting their share of responsibility, they are not quite so friendly. My email expressing my disappointment has been completely ignored at this stage. I understand it may not be the biggest deal in the world but when they hold themselves out to be helpful and also since they charge so much for their clothes, I do expect better. I love the pairing of red and green for any time of the year so my emerald glitter pumps were the perfect choice for the dress. I've worn them for my last three outfit posts so you can tell how much I adore them.

In much more important news, the Sydney siege absolutely broke my heart. I cried so much and it's all I can think about. Of course it's devastating anywhere around the world but when it's so close to home and when you can recognise the locations on the television, it makes it even more impacting. It hurt just that little bit more to find out that one of the victims was a sucessful barrister. That's not to say it wouldn't have been tragic in any profession, of course it would, but the connections I have to the legal profession caused me to shed that extra tear. To think one of the victims worked right near the law courts where I myself got admitted as a lawyer just two months ago is chilling. I was in a meeting on Monday morning when I first heard about the siege. Even though I don't work in the CBD, it was scary to think of what events were unfolding just across the Harbour Bridge. I rarely go the the CBD but I was there on Saturday morning because I wanted to visit Tiffany & Co and I walked straight past the cafe. So many people do every day and that's what makes it so tragic; an event like this unfolds just by the simple act of going to get coffee on a Monday morning during work; it's unspeakable. The legal profession is now denied a genius but more importantly three young children have to grow up without their mother. Not to ignore the other victims too; what an incredible man who died a hero, loved and respected by all. As for those who escaped, how does one begin to carry on with their life after such torture. Why do the most innocent of people have to pay for the problems of the world.

After an unintentional break of one and a half weeks from blogging, I am ready to post again. That might not seem like a long time but it is for me; blogging is always the one aspect of my life I've kept up with regardless of all the other changes in the last few years. I have been feeling rather uninspired lately and I feel frustrated that I have such a terrible camera (am I the only blogger still using a very basic digital camera?) but don't have the money to buy a new one and probably won't for quite some time. I will have to do the best I can. This is an outfit I've been wearing frequently in recent times. Many people comment on the obvious festive nature of the look (I was even called a Christmas elf at work) but since I don't like Christmas that isn't why I'm wearing red and green. I just like these colours together and I love bold combinations (orange and purple is another good one).  This is a new top from Kitten D'Amour. I am absolutely in love with it. I also have it in black. It comes in red, blue, black and emerald. I would love to have all the colours but I thought purchasing more than two of the colours would be taking it too far. At $60, this is rather affordable compared to most pieces from Kitten D'Amour. It is also very suitable for everyday wear; in comparison most Kitten D'Amour clothes are more suited to formal/dressy occassions. This top is perfect and I love it so much. The lace and bows are adorable, and it is a flattering shape in a comfortable material. Best marks Kitten D'Amour for this top!

The shoes were also a rather exciting find. There are a few pieces that I've noticed are common to own in the blogging world. I like that because, although we are spread out all over the world, owning some of these more common pieces makes me feel like I am part of the group. These include many of the Bernie Dexter dresses and the Jenny dresses from Pinup Girl Clothing. In that category I would also include B.A.I.T footwear. I have wanted to own a pair for a long time but was turned off by the high postage charges directly from the US. I tried and locate Australian stockists of B.A.I.T footwear and eventually came across Pretty Dress and bought the pink tbar Ione heels. I was so amazed that I also wanted to add the black version and the mustard yellow pair to my collection. However, that website has only a very limited selection of B.A.I.T footwear so the search continued. However, I became lucky when I found out that Kitten D'Amour now stocks B.A.I.T footwear. Again the selection is not extensive but they had the black Ione shoes that I had been searching for for quite some time. It's amazing to think that these international shoes I'd been trying to track down for so long turned up in a local store in Sydney. I knew they had to come home with me and I' very pleased to have found them. They go with everything and the vintage element is perfect.

It's holidays and I've still got another 5 days off from work. I'm already feeling lonely and bored. I wish I had friends and I wish I could enjoy things that most people do. The lack of routine and the loneliness makes me slip back into feeling extra depressed, even if it is for only a week of holidays. At the same time I don't feel ready to face another demanding year of full time work either. But I do hope you all had a lovely break and I look forward to seeing what you received for Christmas!  I have a few exciting pieces to show you including my new laptop which I am posting from for the first time right now.

Hi everyone, happy 2015. It's that time of year again where we all seem to write about our goals for the year and reflect on 2014. I usually write a lot about this annually on my blog but this time is different. 2014 was without a doubt the worst year of my life and I struggled beyond what I could put into words. I just don't even want to think about it or I'll cry. While I want this year to be completely different, I know that change doesn't happen overnight so the beginning of the year isn't particularly important to me. Rather than rambling on, about the positives and negatives of the year, I'll just leave you with a short post of just a few simple plans for 2015.

I found this quote while following up a story that I watched on Dr Phil (yes, I am the biggest fan). I really connected with it so I wanted to share it here.

Start a Youtube Channel- Ever since the middle of last year I've become interested in youtube; it's great for when I feel alone or bored because it's almost like being with friends. I follow a couple of the big youtubers, although definitely not all of them. My absolute favourite youtube channel is Mammaful Zo. She's so genuine and kind; I'm so excited every time she uploads a new video. I've wanted to join in the fun for a number of months now but still feel a little shy and inexperienced. But I think I'm close to doing it. I need to learn some basics. Do I need video editing software? What can I film videos with? Does anyone know? Any youtubers out there?

Feel Less Depressed- this is a big one and much more complicated than you could possibly imagine. I've tried just about everything over the years so I don't hold out much hope, but I wish more than anything it could happen.

Exercise- I'd like to get back into running very soon. I tried to a few months ago but had to give it up again because I couldn't stand the constant injuries; I'll take it more gradually this time. I love the fulfillment and achievement that comes from sport. When I was a child my whole life was sport for so many years and, all these years later, I've never replicated that feeling from anything else. Exercise is obviously supposed to have numerous additional benefits so I hope it will improve my lifestyle.

Blogging- I'd love to reach at least 1 000 followers on GFC this year. I've been blogging for ages now and I'm still not there yet. Of course blogging isn't just about numbers so I hope I can improve the variety of my posts and further develop friendships.

Save More Money- Last year my spending was out of control. Each year, when I say I'll save more, the spending gets worse and worse. But I truly believe this will be the year. I've had my fun and I'm over the spending. Last year proved that additional spending doesn't actually make me any happier. Maybe seeing my savings grow will make me feel more motivated towards life.

Life Outside Work- Last year, particularly towards the end, my life was completely about work. I can barely recall a single experience I had outside of work. I didn't mind at the time because there wasn't much else to rush home for, but I really don't want another year that boring.  I'm tired of working the longest hours because I have absolutely nothing else to do and I'm so over spending the weekends alone in bed. This isn't the fault of my job, I like the people there, I just want to create a life worth living outside of the office.

Here is an overview of my outfits from 2014.

Hi everyone. I've just created my very first youtube video which you can see here. When I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to start a youtube channel I never expected that I'd actually start creating it that weekend. I also was surprised by how many of you said you'd watch my videos. Thank you (and I hope you don't change your mind after you actually see them). It's a big deal to put my first video on the Internet; I've thought about it for so many months but never thought I could actually do it. I still think my video is very basic and wish I was much better at appearing in front of the camera! I cannot believe how much work it takes to create a video. There are so many small aspects to consider such as the background of the video, what to wear and whether my hair looks acceptable on the camera.  I downloaded some video editing software and I've only used the very basic features but it takes an incredible amount of time. I'd say it's probably taken around eight hours for me to edit the video. I've become so involved in  it, there just isn't enough time after work, I've been staying up way too late. I can definitely see this getting in the way of my full time job. After putting so many hours into filming and editing, I just wanted to finally get the video out there. I now have so much respect for youtubers considering I now know how long it takes.  I don't know how people are so articulate in front of the camera as I can't seem to finish a sentence without pausing or repeating myself. I'm no expert at video editing. I know I tend to waffle on and there are a couple of places where it's way too obvious that I cut off the end of a word while editing. I did the best I can.

I decided to film a beauty favourites video because I've been intending to write a blog post on this for about six months now (never got around to it, worst blogger ever?!) . I'm also no expert on beauty.makeup products (I know so much more about clothes and shoes) so this is just some products that I've come to love in recent times. Let me know if you have any recommendations for videos you'd like me to film. I have a few ideas but I' definitely up for suggestions. Here are the products I featured in my video:

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your comments on my first youtube video. It's hard to know what to expect putting the first one out there so I really appreciate your support. Please subscribe here! I often find it interesting the way in which we view the world having grown up in different countries. So many of you commented on me having an accent (which I did expect since youtube seems to be dominated by people from the US and UK). However, it's so strange being told that since, in my everyday life, I don't have an accent; those who don't speak like me are said to have an accent. I've never been to a location where people don't talk to me! I'll hopefully have another video up towards the end of the week.

Today I'm wearing my rainbow stripe dress from Portmans which I've had for a number of years now and I first posted here. I love how colourful it is; it's great how I can pick up on any one of the colours and wear it with a range of accessories. The obvious choice, in my opinion, is red accessories; I just love how a red cardigan accentuates the red stripes on the dress. I'm not too sure how the pink bag made its way into this look. I guess because a red bag would have been too predictable and I like to try something different. The main aspect of my outfit which I wanted to discuss is the 'Gloria Pointed Flats' which I purchased from B.A.I.T Footwear via Modcloth. I'd admired these shoes on the Modcloth website for so many months and eventually decided to buy them last month when they were part of the 50% off sale. Only $30 for these shoes is such a bargain! They are so sweet and adorable. I love the vintage element to them. The lace detail is unique on this type of shoe. The polka dot lining adds to the design. I also like that it's a B.A.I.T footwear piece since I'm rather obsessed with that brand at the moment. This is my third pair of B.A.I.T footwear and I love adding to my collection. Despite the fact that the Ione T'Bar shoes, which I posted here, generally seem more popular I actually like the shoes I'm wearing in this post more. I really want to have them in black too (but the spending ban is happening so I won't!) I ordered these shoes awhile ago but, due to the holidays period delays, I only just received them last week. I prefer that; I still had a treat last week even though I'm not spending money and the pieces I purchased near Christmas time were more spread out.

As someone who previously hated orange, I am certainly embracing this bold stand out shade now. This is the same dress which I posted a couple of months ago here but this time I decided to go for double orange; I like the lighter coral shade of the cardigan against the brighter orange of the dress. The dress is a piece which my dear friend had made for me in Hong Kong last year. It was awhile ago now but I still really appreciate the kind gesture and the opportunity to design clothes myself. I have three orange pieces in my wardrobe in total now. It started off with my orange Review Australia dress with white lace overlay that I posted here; it was great to get used to wearing orange after not doing so for so many years. But now I am definitely ready to showcase the colour in its entirety. The cardigan is one of my most recent purchases and it's from Alannah Hill. I'd admired this cardigan for so many months but simply couldn't justify the price tag. I wanted to wait for it to come on sale and I'm surprised that it's still at full price. I eventually bought it in the 3 for 2 sale at Alannah Hill which ended up being a good deal. I adore the eyelet design, the crop length and the coral orange shade. I own a large number of cardigans and orange was the only colour missing from my collection. I love wearing it with so many of my dresses. Another stand out part of this outfit is my shoes but the pictures certainly don't do them justice. They are rainbow glitter and the most incredibly unique shoes I've ever seen. They are from the UK brand Faith which I didn't know about until recently. Faith has a number of other amazing glitter shoes too. These were a Christmas present from my sister and I was so impressed that she found them. I'll show you more of them later as these shoes definitely deserve their own post.

H&M: Haul and First Impressions

Hi everyone. This weekend I found the time to film my second video for Youtube. On Sunday I went shopping at H&M which opened relatively recently at the redeveloped Macquarie Centre. It's my first time ever attending a H&M and I was pleased to see that the first store in Sydney was, for once, in the suburbs rather than the city. In the video I show you my purchases and talk about my first impressions of H&M. It's always such a big deal when an international store opens for the first time in Australia. It's always so popular and extremely busy. This was certainly the case for H&M even though it's been open for about three months now. I am often disappointed by the hype surrounding these international stores especially Zara and Topshop; I don't think we get the full range of products over here. However, I was more impressed by H&M. There weren't too many stand out pieces but I came away with a total of six items, all of which I will get a lot of use from. It's great for basics and the stores also have some fun items too. I was particularly drawn to a top which was entirely covered in Furby print. I was very disappointed to see it was sold out in my size; how often do you see clothes like that!? The redeveloped Macquarie Centre is completely different now; I'd often thought that it used to be one of the worst shopping centres in Sydney. I used to go to university just across the road from there for five years so all I can say is that it's lucky all the new stores weren't there back then. Otherwise I never would have been able to resist the pressure; I never would have turned up to class and I'm sure I would have spent a lot of money. Check out my video to see my purchases and don't forget to subscribe to my channel here

Today I am wearing the Kitten D'Amour Girl Crazy Lace Jersey Top in Red which is definitely my favourite top at the moment. I say this because I own it in three different colours (it comes in a total of four colours and I am so tempted to add the blue to my collection too). As soon as this piece was released as part of the Girl Crazy collection I wanted to buy it in all four different versions since I couldn't decide which colour I liked the most. Usually I wouldn't consider buying more than one of the same piece so this just shows how much I love it. I initially settled on the green version and the black version; I don't have many black clothes and the deep classy green shade really stood out to me. However, many weeks later I just could not resist the red either. At $60 this is rather affordable compared to most pieces from Kitten D'Amour.  It is also very suitable for everyday wear; in comparison most Kitten D'Amour clothes are more suited to formal/dressy occasions. This top is perfect and I love it so much. The lace and bows are adorable, and it is a flattering shape in a comfortable material. Best marks Kitten D'Amour for this top! I posted an outfit showing the green version of the same top here

Just a few pieces I love at the moment:

Kitten D'Amour Enchanted Forest Day Dress
This dress is part of the new Enchanted Forest Collection at Kitten D'Amour. It is perfect, beautiful and totally my style; it's one of the most gorgeous pieces I have seen in a very long time. There aren't many novelty prints in local stores around here; I usually have to source fun prints online from the other side of the world.  This is extremely unique and I love how it has a soft pink colour scheme. I really need to add this to my collection of dresses.
Untitled88

Alannah Hill She Plays Up Skirt
I've had my eye on this skirt for awhile now and was so tempted by it that I almost bought it at full price. However, I did the right thing and waited until it came on sale and now it's at 50% off. I'm sure it's obvious that my favourite prints are florals and polka dots but I rarely see them together so this is a lovely unique design. I also love the bright colours. The silhouette is different from other skirts in my wardrobe. It's a pencil skirt at the top which graduates to a fishtail. The material is also unique; it almost feels like a swimsuit.

ASOS Shoes
I love so many shoes from ASOS at the moment so I made a small collection here of my favourites. ASOS brand have so many amazing and beautiful shoes. The burgundy velvet pair are the best and I wish they hadn't sold out in my size; I will have to keep an eye out in case they are restocked. I also love the brand Faith Shoes which is sold on ASOS. I had never heard of the brand until my sister bought me a pair of rainbow glitter heels for Christmas. Now I am drawn to the many fabulous glitter shoes.

Kitten D'Amour Silk Dress in Lemon
I actually have this dress in pale blue (and it also came in pale pink) which I purchased from Kitten D'Amour a number of months ago. It was very popular as it sold out quickly and I went to quite an effort to track down the last one in my size. I was first drawn to this piece because it reminded me of Princess Elsa from Frozen. I absolutely love her and anything which reminds me of her is the best. It appears as though Kitten D'Amour has re-released the dress in different shades. Since I am super obsessed with yellow in recent times. If it wasn't for the Frozen inspiration, I would probably prefer the lemon version. I can't get it out of my mind!

Forever New Justine Quilted Tote Bag and Jennifer Quilted Tote Bag
Ever since I borrowed a real Chanel Bag (here) I have been extra obsessed with quilted bags; they are very pretty and classy (even when not genuine Chanel). I was drawn to these bags because of the size. I don't have many practical sized bags and I'm very much in need of them especially for days at work. The pink version is obviously in alignment with my style. I like the contrast with the black and white version, coupled with the bow (makes me want to make some DIY bows for my existing bags).

OOTD: By the Waterside & Ferry Ride

Hi everyone! Last week I spent some time with my sister by the waterside which was very beautiful and provided amazing photo opportunities. It was such a fun evening and a great way to break up the routine of the average week. I slept over at my sister's place and was able to get the ferry to work the next day which was just so exciting and a lovely way to start a day. I can't believe that many people who live in these locations by the water are lucky enough to use the ferry rather than facing the overcrowded buses and trains during peak hour. It makes me want to move house. I decided that the newest addition to my wardrobe would suit the occasion, which is the Enchanted Forest Day Dress from Kitten D'Amour. As you can see, it is the dress I mentioned in my last wishlist post and so many of you told me I should buy it. Despite being on a spending ban, this was one I definitely couldn't resist. I love everything about it. The silhouette is my favourite and the print is adorable.  I call the print magical trees. I have been wearing this dress non stop at the moment, it truly is the best. My rainbow glitter shoes seemed like the perfect combination to wear with the magical tree dress. The Guess bag is also a recent and sneaky purchase. I have been in love with Guess bags for as long as I can remember. The designs are beautiful and I love the structured look. This one particularly stood out to me as it is a polka dot design and I haven't seen too many bags in that print before. It's very practical and a good size which is always a bonus.

I also made a video which shows my first ever outfit of the day and also part of the ferry ride. I've had a few requests for OOTD videos so I hope it's ok. It's literally just me walking around in front of a pretty harbour side background.

This is my new dress from the 'Holly Heatwave' Collection at Kitten D'Amour. I was looking forward to the arrival of the collection given that it's so excessively floral, fun and bright; I love the contrasting flower designs. Overall the collection runs large and this was the only dress which fitted me (luckily it was my preferred design anyway). I liked this dress because of the sleeveless design and the cross over straps. I adore dresses with interesting backs and there aren't too many designs like this. I had a dress a few years ago with similar cross over straps and my 'Holly Heatwave' dress reminds me of it. This dress is much longer than all of my others and I would like to take up the hem. I hope I will get around to it; I have been wearing it anyway because I love the dress and don't want to wait. I really like the belt which is also from Kitten D'Amour. It makes me want to buy a couple of other similar belts from the store but in different colours, as they add so much to the look. I am way too obsessed with Kitten D'Amour right now. It's becoming the only store I buy clothes from recently which isn't great given that it is rather expensive. I am constantly checking out the website and awaiting the new stock. Next month I am going to stop spending; I can delay my spending ban which was supposed to start at the beginning of the year, by two months, right? I joined a few facebook groups recently for Kitten D'Amour fans and it's really fun to chat with people and exchange thoughts on collections both past and present. Kitten D'Amour should seriously give me free clothes after all the publicity I provide for them.

Hi everyone, it's time for another video! This time I am filming the rainbow tag which has become quite a popular video on youtube over time. In case you don't know, the rainbow tag is where you select a favourite product in each colour of the rainbow and talk about the benefits and generally share the product with everyone out there on the Internet. I've only ever seen this tag done with beauty products but it would be fun to film the rainbow tag with clothes, shoes or accessories. I do love clothes much more than I love beauty products. It's also very fun to choose favourites with a particular criteria. For now I leave you with seven products- in red, yellow, pink, green, purple, orange and blue.

Here is the video:

Milsons Point & Outfit

On Saturday my husband and I went for a walk around Milsons Point which, in my opinion, is right at the top when it comes to the most beautiful suburbs in Sydney. In fact I often go for walks here at lunch time during the working week. It's quite rare for us to go out on Saturdays, especially anywhere this far from where we live, since I am usually too tired from the week at work to do anything but stay at home. The waterside is so pretty. There are some even better locations for photos than this but there was a couple getting married at Luna Park so they occupied all the best locations. I've added a few photos of the area which I've managed to take on other days too.

In terms of my outfit, I am wearing a dress from the Innocence Collection by Kitten D'Amour. It's slightly different to my usual style given that it's much less colourful than my other dresses; prior to this piece I only owned one other piece which was entirely white. But the peter pan collar, the floral detailing, and the fact that the dress was less expensive than most pieces from Kitten D'Amour, was enough to convince me to buy it. I'm now very pleased that I did. It must be a big change because when I wore this to work, I received endless comments wondering where all the colour in my outfit had gone. The red belt, also from Kitten D'Amour, adds a lot to the look. I adore the combination of red and white, and I can never have enough bows. Like I mentioned in one of my recent outfit posts, I wish I had this belt in every colour. These bow belts literally look good with any outfit. I have this bow belt in both red and white, and I'm pretty sure it comes in black and blue also.  My double bow flats from Wittner were an obvious choice to complement the look. I have had these shoes for so many years now and posted them on my blog more times than I can remember. These are without a doubt my most worn shoes out of my entire shoe collection. I often find that with Wittner shoes;  they are extremely reliable, I never lose my love for them and I just wear them for much longer than I do with any of my other shoes.

Hi everyone. Today’s post is about my love for all things Tiffany blue. I’ve always adored the colour since it’s so classy, beautiful, soft and delicate. I’ve come to love it even more in the last few months ever since I purchased my first ever piece from Tiffany & Co. I notice the shade more these days. I wish there was more of this colour around; there are a number of variations of the colour which could almost pass as Tiffany blue as you can tell from this post. I especially love shoes and bags in this colour. I almost wish I had it as the colour scheme for my wedding.  For this post I have compiled a few of my favourites, it’s a wishlist in Tiffany blue (although I’m somewhat hesitant to call it a wishlist given that a Chanel bag and Manolo Blahnik shoes are hardly attainable to me!) Are you a fan of the colour?

Manolo Blahnik Satin Crystal Pumps
I've adored these shoes ever since I saw the sapphire blue pair in the Sex and the City movie. They are so gorgeous, beautiful and perfect. They are very amazing in every single colour but this colour (along with the pink version) is definitely my favourite. Of course they are brighter than Tiffany blue but I just had to include them in this post. These shoes would look pretty with so many outfits; I love the way they'd stand out. Who wants to buy them for me? It's so sad that it's unlikely for me to ever own such expensive shoes.

Chanel Tiffany Blue Classic Bag
WOW. Could there possibly be a better bag than this? This is the ultimate and my dream bag. The classic Chanel design is perfect with the feminine Tiffany blue. Like I said with the shoes, I of course love this design in every colour but pink or pale blue are my absolute favourites. To own a real Chanel bag is pretty much my life time goal when it comes to fashion. I don't know how and it certainly won't be for a very long time, but I have to believe that one day it is possible.

Tiffany Blue Macaroons
Macaroons have been a favourite of mine for years now. Not only are they incredibly delicious, they are also so adorable and sweet (sweet in both taste and appearance). I wish I could have macaroons every single day and I often see them in pale blue.  On another note, I'm starting to see macaroons make their way into fashion, in the form of jewellery and accessories. I really want a macaroons printed dress and a top with a huge macaroon on the front.

Alannah Hill 'The Pope Ate Soap' Cardigan
As a slight variation on Tiffany blue, I love how Alannah Hill often uses this duck egg blue shade. I have a few pieces in the colour but not this particular cardigan. I love the combination of pale blue and bows, its like they were made to go together.

Tiffany Blue Cocktail Dress (Unknown Brand)
I'm not too sure where this dress is from as I saw it on Pinterest. It's so pretty, especially with the sequins, and it almost reminds me of a mermaid. I love the dreamy vibe and the flowing design. I just love strapless dresses; I adore them so much that I try and make them work for every day instead of just cocktail style events. This dress inspires me to wear an entirely pale blue outfit- dress, shoes, bag, accessories- everything!

Tiffany Blue Lace Pillow
There are so many Tiffany blue wedding ideas out there and that's how I came across this pillow. It combines so many of my favourite aspects- a pretty shade, sequins, bows and lace. I have to track this down and buy it for the house!  It's the perfect pillow- so pretty and stunning.

Forever New Louisa Small Bag
This is a slightly more attainable bag than the other above. I love the bags at Forever New especially at the moment. They have some really adorable small purse style bags and I want to buy them all! (On another note I was in Forever New on the weekend and a sweet little lemon bag was called the Imogen bag). Also, tweed is one of my favourite materials ever. I always wish I had more clothes and accessories that were a tweed design. The oversized bow adds a lot and it's such a beautiful combination.

Tiffany Blue Nails
I have most nail polish shades in my collection but nothing like this (totally need to change that). It's the perfect way to introduce Tiffany blue into one's life. The addition of the silver detailing is perfect.
If anyone knows of a nail polish in this colour then please let me know.It must be my mission to track it down.

What are your favourite pieces in Tiffany blue?

Hi everyone, this week I had another opportunity to spend a night by the water with my sister. I wish we'd had more time as it's a super lovely location and it was a little late by the time I arrived after work. I always take my cameras to the water but by the time I arrived there was a storm and it turned pitch black. However, I was determined to get photos so I got up extra early the next morning and my sister took this set of photos for me. I was planning to make an outfit of the day video but unfortunately I didn't have the time this morning as I needed to get to work. I've never taken outfit pictures in the morning before this. As always, when I stay overnight in this location, I get the ferry to work the next day. It is always so fun and incredible to think that many people do that every day while the rest of us have to endure the chaotic buses and trains. You can watch the video I made last time I was in this location here. In terms of my outfit, I am wearing a playsuit by the brand Angel Biba. I adore playsuits but this is only the second one I own. It's difficult to find playsuits that tick all the boxes but this one sure does. I love pattern mixing, especially stripes with florals, so it is a really amazing design. I also like how the shorts are flared and roomy so it looks like a skirt; I much prefer this design in comparison to playsuits with the more fitted shorts. My bag is a new addition to my wardrobe from the recent Guess sale. I have no self control when it comes to Guess bags, I just can't help myself. I love the structured design and the colour of this one.

Today is my birthday. I cannot believe how old I am; it truly blows my mind to think where all the years went. It makes me sad if I think about it too much so I will try not to. Since I am 10 weeks older than my husband, I refuse to believe that I've turned the next age until he has in May. Unfortunately today hasn't been too exciting yet; all I've done so far is wake up at an incredibly early time and deal with Sydney's crazy peak hour transport. I've actually never been to work on my birthday before since last year my birthday was on a Sunday and prior to that I was a student...so this will be interesting. It's also nice to wake up to birthday messages on social media.

I always like to wear a new dress for my birthday. This is one of my birthday presents. It's technically from my husband although I did buy it myself; we usually choose our own gifts to make it easier but the thought is still there. Since I buy so many clothes I like to ensure that any clothes I purchase for my birthday are special or different so they don't just become one of many in my wardrobe. This is a piece which is much more of a formal/dressy/occasion dress and I wear it to all of my of my birthday celebrations. It is of course another dress from Kitten D'Amour. I've had my eye on it for so many months, even when it was a preview prior to it being released. The colour, lace, silhouette and detailing is so pretty. I love the delicate and beautiful nature. To me, it's a princess dress. I resisted buying this for months because it was so expensive, almost $300. But when it came on sale for almost 50% I thought it would be perfect for my birthday. The bag is also a birthday present, I adore these pastel shades together, but more on that later. I hope to film a what I got for my birthday video eventually too.

Today's outfit incorporates a number of new pieces which I received for my birthday. The dress is the newest addition to my wardrobe and I used the excuse of it being my birthday to buy it. I've had my eye on this dress from Alannah Hill ever since it came out at least six months ago but the retail price was $400. I would never pay that for a dress. I waited for it to come on sale and it still wasn't discounted enough. Then it appeared to sell out and eventually disappear from the stores. Recently, while in the Alannah Hill store in Chatswood, I noticed there were a couple left, one being in my size, and there was more than 50% off the retail price. Wow! That was pretty exciting. As you can tell, I adore this shade of pale blue at the moment and the whole colour scheme is different from the myriad of floral pieces in my wardrobe. The cut of the dress is also different from what I usually wear. It's also a lovely soft flowing material too. The umbrella is a birthday gift which I received last weekend from my parents. It's from Kitten D'Amour; I think they wanted to buy me something from my favourite store which wasn't clothes (which is totally understandable!) I am amazed by this umbrella; it is so classy and adds a new dimension to the concept of umbrellas. It looks more like a parasol and part of an outfit. I actually thought all the umbrellas in Kitten D'Amour were paper parasols; I was surprised to see that a number of them are proper functioning umbrellas. I actually want it to rain at the moment so I can use it.

My spending is really out of control at the moment, it seems like every time I make plans to save money the spending becomes worse, and I am so sick of it. I spend to fill a significant void in my life, to deal with the problems of life and to feel relief from how depressed I feel every single day. There's nothing else which makes me feel better and my problems never seem to go away, year after year. But it has come to the point where even the spending will not make me feel better. In the last year, where I have spent the most, I've actually been the most miserable. A new dress no longer seems to make up for everything else I'm missing in my life. The spending is going to stop.

So exciting- recently I scored my dream dress from Kitten D'Amour which I'd been attempting to track down for so many months. I found someone who was selling this piece in my size, via the Kitten D'Amour buy, swap and sell Facebook group that I joined. I couldn't believe it because it's always so rare to find exactly what you want and, on the rare chance it does appear, there's so much competition and the pieces sell so fast. This dress is such a stand out and definitely one of my absolute favourites that I have ever owned. I adore hot pink and polka dots so it is the perfect combination. The pink detailing is super stunning and I love the collar design. The dress is a beautiful silhouette as there is even netting underneath. Everything about this dress is perfect and I can't wait to wear it for the first time. I hope I'm not being hypocritical considering what I wrote in my last post but this time was different; I've been selling some clothes I don't wear anymore so I see this as more of a swap. I haven't been so happy about a particular piece of clothing in as long as I can remember.

Here it is- The Dolly Darling Collar Dress! This is my dream dress; out of all the many dresses I've ever owned this one is my absolute favourite. As I mentioned in my last post I've wanted this dress for so many months; Kitten D'Amour wasn't in Sydney when this dress was originally released so I didn't know about it until it had already sold out. I was so lucky to find someone, on the Kitten D'Amour Buy, Swap and Sell Facebook page, who was willing to sell it to me; I couldn't believe I was able to secure the dress given that everything sells so fast on the site. It's even more gorgeous in person and was everything I expected. It fits perfectly, is excellent quality and has layers of netting underneath to provide the 1950s silhouette. The print completely reflects my style; the combination of hot pink and polka dots is absolutely stunning. I definitely think pink is the best colour for the detailing; but it would also be amazing if this dress came in other bright colours such as yellow!

In a couple of days the much anticipated Yasmin collection from Kitten D'Amour will be arriving in stores and online. I've seen so many pictures of it from the previews and have never looked forward to the arrival of a collection as much as this before. I even put money aside for it when I knew I was going to be starting a spending ban soon.

In other news, a few people have asked if I could provide an update on my work. Since it consumes most of my life, that seems fitting. Sometimes it is the best place in the world and at other times it is the worst. One week I'll have extreme motivation and want to work on the weekends but other times I can hardly bring myself to do anything. Those days of zero motivation are largely a result of my other issues such as being depressed, feeling anxiety on public transport and struggling to get a proper night's sleep. The routine can get very mundane of course, I often wish I was doing something more exciting than working five days of every week. But I quickly realise that I don't actually have anything better to do and I'd be much worse off without work anyway. Being unemployed, even for a short term, was incredibly depressing and I hated every second of being a university student. If you have to live in the real world then work is definitely the way to go. The work I do is not exactly hard and I like that. I've never been one who is particularly ambitious or out for a challenge so I like the familiarity and I feel proud that I've come to know a job so well. Even with it not being hard, I still never thought I'd be able to handle any form of full time job so the achievement I feel from that has been immense. I feel like I fit in there more than any of place over the course of my life. I don't have any friends outside of work and the lack of social life makes me lonely. My work has successfully filled part of that void for quite some time now. I've tried to involve myself in much more than I normally would have and it has paid off. As much as I dislike work sometimes, and the whole routine is a lot of effort, it is the best thing that's ever happened to me and I try to remind myself of that. That sums up my experience of the last year and a half; if there are any specific questions you'd like answered then please let me know.

My Birthday Presents

Hi everyone. Finally I've had the chance to film and edit my 'What I Got For My Birthday Video.' I've had so many problems finalising this one. It's the longest video I've ever made and it took the whole of last weekend and a couple of weeknights to edit. It didn't help that the video editing software failed to save my progress on a couple of occasions. I must admit that I was pretty close to giving up on this video completely. I haven't posted a video in awhile now; I can't believe it's been almost a month. I haven't had much time because I've been busy with work but I will make more effort from now on to keep up with my channel. This video will show you all the fashion and beauty pieces I received for my birthday. I love everything I received so thanks so much everyone! I will let the video speak for itself; well done if you get to the end as this video is half an hour long.
