What I Love About Winter

I have two videos for you in a week. that's definitely a record. In today's video I share my favourite five things about winter. In Australia at the moment it is mid-way through autumn and the weather is quickly becoming colder. Ever since daylight saving ended last weekend, the difference has been incredible. Last week felt relatively warm but now it is freezing especially the journey to and from work. I am wearing scarves and many layers under my coats already; I'm sure it won't be long before the gloves and tracksuit pants make an appearance. Overall I much prefer summer to winter for many reasons but mainly because I feel the cold much more than other people. Of course there are many locations around the world where winter is much colder and totally on a different scale to here. But it sure does get absolutely freezing in Sydney too. Be sure to watch the video to find out my favourite parts about winter.

I've had the most challenging and terrible weeks. I started a post on it but in the end I couldn't publish it; such negativity is generally not what people want to see on a fashion blog. Maybe one day I'll find a coherent way of sharing my story.

New In: Emerald Glitter Pumps

Hi everyone. Just a quick post today; it's been an extremely busy week for me so I haven't been as present in the online world as usual. I have been very naughty and purchased some rather expensive shoes which are the Red Carpet 100 Pumps from Mimco in  Peacock Green Glitter. I would never pay this amount for a pair of shoes but I absolutely could not resist. I never see shoes which make this much of a statement in the shops; I am often frustrated by the conservative range of shoes that are available. These shoes are absolutely stunning and perfect. The most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. I adore glitter and there are definitely not enough glitter products around. I tried to make my own glitter heels a few years ago but they didn't look as good as a store bought pair and I was scared about all the glitter falling off! But I think eventually I'll try DIY glitter shoes again because I'd love to have glitter shoes in every colour and especially in pink. The stand out feature of these heels is also the gorgeous emerald shade. Wow. I'll be wearing these shoes for the first time tonight for a Christmas party which is a cruise around Sydney Harbour.

It's been such a long time since I created a blog post; I've felt very uninspired and uncreative lately. In addition, it's been a difficult time for me on a personal level and I haven't been feeling great. But I think, for the first time in as long as I can remember, certain aspects of my life are looking up. Yesterday was the best day I've had in the past couple of years. I hope it can continue this way even if the progress towards creating a life that feels worth it, is slow. This is what I wore yesterday to spend time with the family. I haven't worn my polka dot dress from Kitten D'Amour for a long time and it was great to get it out again. This dress came in green and red, in addition to blue and I especially wish I'd picked up the red version too. I liked how this dress was more well priced than most dresses from Kitten D'Amour but for that reason it did sell out rather fast. Polka dots are my favourite print ever so this dress is completely representative of my style. I love the silhouette with a deep v at both the front and the back. The combination of orange and blue came to me rather quickly yesterday morning; I think it's inspired by one of my long term favourites of blue and bright pink.  I love this cardigan because of the colour, texture and eyelet detailing. I like how the dress and cardigan sit against each other at the neckline. I'm bringing out an old favourite in terms of my Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats. I've had them for a year and a half now and was so incredibly happy and excited when I received them as a gift all that time ago since it was very unexpected. I wrote a post about these amazing shoes here when I first received them.  Not only do they look completely adorable, they are very comfortable too. A pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats is definitely a wardrobe essential to me.

Forever New Single Breasted Coat in Mulberry
Since the colder weather is coming the shops are instantly filed with mulberry, forest green and navy shades. I'm usually not one to wear 'winter colous' in the cold weather and 'summer colours' in the warm weather. I pretty much wear the same shades and pieces all year round. But this year I'm very attracted to all shades mulberry and burgundy. I'd definitely wear this colour all year but it only seems to be available in the shops during winter. This coat is actually less of a purple tone and more of a red tone in person. I've never owned anything in this shade before and it's completely gorgeous. It is actually the same coat which I have in light blue which I received for my birthday; I showed it in my youtube video here. I love the design, it's so flattering. Forever New keeps releasing this coat in more and more unique shades such as blonde, ballerina pink, forest green and lilac petal. I wish I could buy it in six colours!

Peter Alexander Sesame Street Sweater and Character Face Classic Pant
It's not everyday that you see Sesame Street Pyjamas; I think I'm actually going to have to buy this set. There should be more fun character related pieces around; these are the ultimate and perfect pyjamas. They of course bring back many memories of the amazing shows we watched in the 90s and that crazy big bird. I've always loved Peter Alexander pyjamas but I don't have too many because they are rather expensive. I guess that makes the pairs I have more special.

Review Elle Fluffy Cardigan
I love the trend of fluffy jumpers/tops but the oversized jumpers that we usually see in the shops aren't really my style. As soon as I saw this I knew it was perfect and totally my style; It's much more delicate, feminine and pretty. As I mentioned in my Tiffany blue post here, I love this colour right now; it's one of my favourites.

Guess Delaney Tote Bag in Stripe
Guess bags are my weakness, I can't resist a shiny beautiful new one. I especially like the 'Delaney' style as it's sturdy and classy and a good size. I have the 'Delaney design' in a couple of other patterns; namely black & white polka dots and pink logo. There are a few others which I have my eye on such as the leopard print version but my absolute favourite is the stripe version. I don't often see too many stripe bags around; in fact patterned bags in general can often be rare, so stripes would be an amazing addition to any wardrobe.

Chalk of the Town Dress in Kittens
I've had my eye on this dress for awhile now and it's perfect for me since the little white cats very closelyresemble my Juliette Princess Miracle. A cat printed dress is amazing but a dress with fluffy white cats is even more amazing. Some of the kitty cats are playing and others are wearing crowns. The kitties are very pretty against the pale blue background. It's also the fit and flare silhouette that I love the most. It's Bea & Dot from Modcloth and I've always been happy with my fun and uniquely printed pieces from that brand.

Retro My Little Pony Starshine Tote Bag
I love the bags from Pinup Girl Clothing; the range of Ariel, Snow White, Belle and My Little Pony bags are so unique and amazing. It's pretty obvious why I want this bag, I mean it's just the best. I'd own so many more Pinup Girl Clothing bags if the postage wasn't so high to Australia. I used to own the Little Mermaid Pencil Case and lost it. I was going to replace it but was very discouraged to see that the postage for one $10 pencil case was $35. I surely can't justify that.

P1170190Hi everyone. As you can see I could not resist purchasing the beautiful mulberry coloured coat from my last post. I love this beautiful shade so much and I've never had anything quite like it before. It's a little darker than my usual shade but I'm really enjoying pretty jewel tones at the moment. It's the same coat I have in pale blue which I received for my birthday so now I have the same coat in more than one colour; that's testament to how much I adore my birthday gift. I also like the design with the shorter length and bold buttons. I know I'll be getting so much use from these coats, I certainly have already. The flower hair clip is my favourite hair piece at the moment. I love the design and it's also easy to use since the flowers are attached to a hair comb. I'm think of attaching many of my existing hair flowers to hair combs or making my own because it is much more convenient than the clips usually sold in the shops. I thought the golden flats would add a touch of colour and sparkle to the outfit. These are one of a few pairs of Marc by Marc Jacobs flats which I own. They are the most comfortable shoes ever and I love how brightness of the gold. I also like having a pair of the logo flats in addition to the mouse flats.

Tomorrow my husband will be leaving for a two and a half week family trip overseas. The main reason I'm not coming is because, in addition to it being difficult to get the time off work, I cannot get on a plane. I struggle with a lot of forms of transport including planes, buses on motor ways and express trains. There is just no way I could spend multiple hours on a plane. I haven't been on a plane for five years and even then I have only traveled on 1.5 hour flights but these days I wouldn't even do that. I feel sad that I'm missing out on yet another experience that the family will have together. My whole life I've felt different to others and have missed out on so many opportunities because of various anxieties. It makes me feel terrible about myself. While they are away my day to day life probably won't be that different because I spend most of my time at work anyway. The last time my husband went away a number of years ago I completely fell apart but this time I'll have a lot less free time to think about the situation. The key is to keep busy; I will probably spend lots of time on my blog so I don't get lonely. Also, my photographer will be away so that will make outfit posts less frequent. But hopefully I can convince my sister to take a set of pictures for me this weekend. My sister is coming to stay on the weekend and I really appreciate the company and something to look forward to at a time where I would otherwise feel sad.

I had the best weekend with my sister and I wish it could have lasted for more than two days. We had the most fun time shopping and bought so many little pieces between the two of us. We went to my local shopping centre but I enjoyed it much more than usual because my sister took me to many shops that I wouldn't normally visit. Also, when I go shopping by myself I tend to send all my money on one item as my taste has become increasingly expensive over the years. This means that solo shopping trips are over quickly and have become quite boring. However, yesterday we spent the whole afternoon at the shops and I purchased many inexpensive items. This gave me the satisfaction of coming away with many new bits and pieces which is of course more exciting than just one. I don't have many friends or opportunities like yesterday so it really was amazing. It took my mind off my husband and his family being away as I know I'll struggle with that when I'm less busy. On Saturday night, instead of going out and enjoying a few drinks as usual, we decided to stay in and dye our hair.

My hair is no longer brown. I've dyed it red. I've wanted to dye my hair red from a few months now. I've fallen in love with the vibrant pink and purple hair colours that seem to be in style at the moment but don't want to get into bleaching my hair so red seemed like a good alternative option. The only thing holding me back for many months was the fact that I actually like my natural hair colour very much. I used to dye my hair black for many years when I was a teenager and I eventually decided I wanted my natural colour back. I then realised I liked it and haven't dyed my hair in seven years. In many ways I'm sad to see it go. However, hair is supposed to be fun and it's great that we can experiment without it being as permanent solution as it will grow back. It was time for a change and, since I'm not willing to change my hair style, it had to be a change in terms of my hair colour. I would have liked the red to have been even brighter. However, I know that is not realistic. My hair is natural dark and to get it as vibrant as I ideally desire, I would have had to bleach it which I don't want to get into. Given the circumstances, I'm surprise it didn't turn out less bright. Here is a previous, I know not everyone likes it...Kind of scary to turn up to work for the first time with this hair...

Recently I came across Rosa Novias, a company which sells a beautiful, vibrant and extensive range of special occasion pieces. I love discovering new stores and this one certainly met my expectations and was consistent with my personal style. I just adore getting ready for special events and wearing princess dresses. I have selected a number of my favourite dresses from Rosa Novias for this post. The absolute best, in my opinion, is the first one; I've always wanted a dress like that. I love the sparkle, the strapless design, the full skirt and the mix of colours. The full length gowns are also very glamorous. The pale pink is the perfect girly colour. I'm also drawn to the yellow and orange pieces as these are shades which I've come to love in recent times. The fishtail design of the blue gown is also such a standout. It's actually been my dream to own a dress like that as I never have before. It is the ultimate elegance and class. I definitely recommend you check out Rosa Novias; the website is located here. They also have dresses for a range of occasions such as weddings, communions, proms, parties and evening events.

As I mentioned in my post here, I had the best weekend ever when my sister came to stay over recently. I wished it didn't end so quickly. Well...the good news is that we enjoyed that weekend so much that we decided to do it again on the weekend that just passed. I was so happy when I found out! We went shopping again, enjoyed some drinks and watched Netflix! Two weekends in a row was amazing. I wouldn't have coped so well with my husband being away for the past couple of weeks if I didn't have these fun weekends with my sister. My husband will be back next Sunday morning. I was worried about being lonely while he was away but so far I've been incredibly busy and haven't had a spare moment to feel lonely. It was also Mother's Day yesterday. I had a lovely time with the family including my kitty cat Juliette Princess Miracle. We made sushi which turned out well and had the tastiest lunch ever with all our favourites.

This is one of my favourite skirts ever; I don't see too many skirts like this. The rainbow and polka dot design is totally my style. I've had it for a couple of years now and I posted it on my blog previously here. It's extremely fun because it can obviously be paired with pretty much any colour top. I could make so many outfits involving this piece. The cardigan is also a favourite as the lace is very pretty and the piece is versatile. I also have the blue version of this cardigan and I was able to acquire it for 75% off the original retail price. What a great find. I've been getting a lot of use from my umbrella which I received for my birthday (video here) in the last month as the weather has been crazy and much more rainy than usual. It's much more elegant than most umbrellas and really forms part of an outfit. It's also great quality; in the wild weather in Sydney a couple of weeks ago, everyone else's umbrellas were turning inside out and mine stood the test of the weather and remained perfectly in shape- always a bonus. The ba g is my namesake piece; I bought it because it is called the 'Imogen Bag.'

Sportsgirl Fairisle Adventure Jumper
I usually don't shop at Sportsgirl. While I certainly do like the accessories, I've only ever owned a couple of clothing items/shoes from the store. Sportsgirl is not really consistent with my style, the sizing often runs large and the clothes seem rather overpriced in general. So this piece is somewhat different from what you’d usually expect to find on my wishlist. However, I absolutely love it. I tried it on this week at lunch time and it was so warm and cosy. I adore the printed design and it’s good quality. These types of jumpers are so tempting during the cold weather we are experiencing at the moment. I'm always drawn to a sweet 'winter' print such as this; I love my snowflake jumper, bow jumper and red, white & blue jumpers from Dotti which I purchased in previous years. I totally didn't know that this print has a name- apparently it is called fairisle.

Kitten D'Amour Bella Senora Dress
I've been waiting for the release of this dress after seeing it initially many month ago. It's so perfect..and so pink! The detailing, black & pink contrast, floral inspiration and fit & flare design is all totally my style. I tried it on the other day. It was much longer than I anticipated. I don't usually wear anything below knee length. However, this is so long that it is pretty much ballerina length and I actually think that is very pretty and vintage looking. It's way more expensive that I expected but I do have store credit with Kitten D'Amour so maybe I'll end up acquiring it. It wouldn't be particularly versatile as, despite me being overly dressed up for all occasions, this one would have to be reserved for special events.

Bella Senora Lace Top (Fuschia)
After having not purchased anything from the last couple of Kitten D'Amour collections, the store is now back on my radar. I'm sure that's partially to do with the fact that the current collection is centered around hot pink. I adore the lace detailing and the bow design. I also love the quality and very fitted structure of tops from Kitten D'Amour. It's very similar to the lace tops from the 'Girl Cray' collection which I purchased late last year and have been my favourite tops ever (green here and red here).

B.A.I.T Footwear Gloria Lace Flats
I have these shoes in red (pictured here and here) and they are my favourite shoes I have ever owned. They are perfect and I can't speak highly enough of them. I adore the lace up inspiration, the vintage vibe and the classy dual colour combination. They go with absolutely everything. I know I'll get so much use from the black pair, as I have with the red pair, that I believe it's worth owning both versions.

I love Review cardigans; I have them in a couple of different colours but would be so happy to own more colours of the rainbow. I'm very fussy about the quality of cardigans so I usually buy only Review and Alannah Hill; these particular ones are good quality. I often like to customise these cardigans with sparkles, embellishment, buttons and sequins. They are a great basis for a DIY. I especially want the mustard shaded cardigan because I've wanted a mustard piece for years but haven't been able to find the right one. This cardigan is certainly the right one as it's very beautiful. I also adore the pretty shade of pink here. Surprisingly I don't actually have too many pink cardigans so it would be great to add this one to my collection. I'm waiting for them to come on sale because these cardigans often do eventually.

I recently noticed these adorable flats on both the .B.A.I.T Footwear website and Modcloth; I'm not sure if they are  a new style. They are the sweetest ever and remind me of shoes I used to wear as a small child especially because of the cut outs. This style also comes in both white and black, in addition to this red patent version. I can't decide which pair I like the most.

Today I'd like to introduce you all to Sugar Plum Aprons, the prettiest and most incredible aprons ever. I love the adorable and vintage inspired designs, the detailing of bows, frills and ruffles, the excellent quality and the flattering silhouette. The designs add a whole new dimension to the concept of aprons; I just love how each piece resembles a beautiful dress and can easily form part of an outfit. My favourite is the Snow White inspired apron; such a sweet and creative idea. It reminds me of the Snow White inspired outfit I posted on my blog a couple of years ago here. There are so many uses for these lovely aprons including events such as dinner parties, birthday parties, kitchen teas and engagement parties. It makes me wish I'd had a Super Plum Apron when I had my kitchen tea a few years ago. There is also a children's range so women and children can buy matching sets, how adorable is that! This weekend I had so much fun getting out some kitchen equipment and taking these pictures.

Today I have another two beautiful designs to show you from Sugar Plum Aprons. After the fun of creating last week's post it was great to get the chance to do it all again. Both designs are as adorable and stunning as the last two; it's impossible to choose a favourite. It was lucky I had a cupcake dress to pair under the Cupcake Cutie apron as matching is always fun! Sugar Plum Aprons are having a sale at the moment with 25-50% off so there's no better time to head over to the online store and choose out a beauty for yourself.

Hi everyone. Today I'd like to show you my current favourite piece in my wardrobe, my new coat from Kitten D'Amour. I loved this coat from the moment I saw it but I wasn't sure if I could justify purchasing it since it was rather pricey and I already have so many coats. But with the 20% off sale, and given that I couldn't get the coat out of my mind, I decided to add it to my collection. I certainly have a need for coats since I leave early for work and live far away. This coat has the added benefit of being much longer than my others so it will be nice and warm (although I do wish it was ever so slightly shorter). I love the faux fur collar. I don't like an excess of fur like with many of the other Kitten D''Amour coats but this one is just the right amount. This coat is very nice and fitted and I love the silhouette but I'm surprised but how much of a small make it is. I can't wait to wear this to and from work tomorrow. What are your most recent purchases?

Hi all. I've been rather absent in the blog world for the last couple of weeks; it feels like so long since I've spent time replying to comments and posting regularly. I've been so busy with work that I've barely had a spare moment. Fortunately I don't mind working a lot as it provides me with so many benefits and a real sense of achievement; more on that soon. But I definitely need to find the time to talk to all my friends here again soon.

This pretty lace top is the latest addition to my wardrobe. I never expected to buy this piece when the Bella Senora Collection came out at Kitten D'Amour as I thought there would be too much material at the front for it to suit me. However, I decided to try it on a number of weeks after it came out when it came on sale and I completely changed my mind. I loved it immediately and couldn't possibly leave the store without it. It seems a little different from my other tops and it'll go with pretty much anything. It's also very comfortable and warm. So pleased I now have this top. The skirt appears to be a good match with the white base and the touches of black which tie the two pieces together. I purchased the skirt from Forever 21 awhile ago. I only have a few pieces from Forever 21; there haven't been too many items I've wanted to buy there but the ones I do have I certainly love very much. Now finally onto my shoes as they are my favourites at the moment. They are of course another gem from B.A.I.T Footwear. For the last few weeks I've worn B.A.I.T Footwear almost exclusively, alternating between three pairs. They are so comfortable and such adorably beautiful designs. I love the vintage inspiration and in particular the 40s vibe to this pair. I just found out that these shoes come in a variety of glitter shades including gold, silver, pink and blue! WOW! Blue glitter here I come...

Hi everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted on my blog; three weeks must be the longest break I've ever had. I've been so busy with work as per my last post. I'm planning to make more of an effort to fit blogging into my schedule from now on like I used to. I have a number of ideas for posts including showing you recent purchases and my new favourite makeup product which I recently discovered. My top is one of these recent purchases from the Soho Collection from Kitten D'Amour. I wasn't so sure about this collection when it was released; maybe because it's not as colourful as my other pieces.  I decided to try on this piece regardless and surprisingly fell in love with it. I love the fitted design and the oversized collar is very beautiful. I can't believe I overlooked this top to begin with; now I totally couldn't deal without it in my wardrobe. There have been some pretty amazing sales recently which allowed me to acquire the other elements of my outfit. This is my first ever Victoria's Secret bag and I was lucky enough to get it at 50% off. I love the pink colour scheme, the structured shape and the golden hardware. My shoes were another bargain as they were only $20 from Target. The skirt is from Forever New. I can never have enough skater skirts and they are often difficult to find. I didn't realisev how much of a perfect match the top and skirt were until I tried them on together; now they seem like they could be a matching set.

I'll make my way through your comments this week, apologies for the delay.

Outfit & Life Update

I've planned to write this post for awhile now but I wanted to wait until it was official. It will also provide you with an update on my life and what I've been doing in my absence from blogging. I don't even know where to start but let's just say my life has completely transformed and I'm such a different person now in the best possible way. After almost two years of being a contractor at work I've finally been offered a permanent position as a Contract Specialist. It's been my dream since I started there to be taken on permanently but I never thought it would be in a position such as this. It's a job I never thought I'd ever be able to achieve. The associated benefits literally blow my mind; I never thought I'd be so lucky even when I was much older than in my mid twenties. It's life changing because it feels like I've entered a new world; I can save up to achieve dreams which I never used to think were realistic.

I cannot possibly put into words how much work has already changed my life already in the past two years.  I actually become really emotional thinking about it and piecing together the parts of my journey which led me to where I am today. I am left completely and utterly speechless that something so good could happen to me. A large part of the reason why it's so significant for me is because of this journey. I've hated my life for most of the last ten years (or more) and have been deeply unhappy. I've been at absolute rock bottom and even felt like living itself wasn't even worth it. The years of major anxiety I experienced and the deep feelings of depression consumed my life for as long as I can remember. I think about to two years ago when I literally lied in bed and cried every day for months on end. The feelings of worthlessness, failure and self hatred that defeated me for almost my entire life. I also hated every second of university and was so miserable there; for the first time ever all those years finally feel worth it. I feel like I've been through a lot to get to where I am and that makes my current successes even more of an achievement.

It's incredible to think about how every single aspect of my life has been changed because of work. I'm so much more positive about everything. I am so grateful for the opportunity I've been provided with and I know every single day how lucky I am. I've been pushed out of my comfort zone in so many respects that I rarely suffer from anxiety these days (two years ago I would have had a panic attack at the mere thought of running meetings, making phone calls or engaging in my current level of social interaction). I can start a conversation with anyone now and I don't think I'm shy anymore. The self worth I've developed is life changing; being told I've done a good job or I'm experienced at a certain task has such a profound impact on me. It's also the first time I've ever felt like I fit in. I feel like a valued member of the team that I'm well liked. These are all such new experiences for me. I've met the most incredible people. There are a few in particular that are responsible for providing me with the opportunity for this job to turn into what it has today and who I admire more than I could explain. I love being around positive and educated people all day who care about self improvement and push me to be better. It shocks me every single day that I fit in in a world like this.

I'm really proud of myself (and I never say that). I've put everything I have into work and made it my whole life. I've never tried so hard at anything before and it's incredible to see the hard work pay off. I had nothing to lose when I started and I knew that it was the way out of everything I hate about my life. It's been the best thing that's ever happened to me and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait until tomorrow as it's the official start date.

Now onto my outfit.  I love this coat from Kitten D'Amour because it's pink and fluffy! I adore the structured design and the longer length (very practical for those early mornings traveling to work). It's so glam, classy and vintage in style. I couldn't put it down when I saw it in the store. I'm so glad I bought it because it's actually a very practical purchase; it's so warm and I get much use from it. This is also my very first pair of Kurt Geiger heels! (I've since bought them in hot pink also). I adore this brand of shoes and am admiring so many pairs at the moment. However, Kurt Geiger is usually out of my price range. But the sales have been pretty amazing lately and I scored these for 65% off the original retail price. Speaking of good discounts, my dress is another amazing sales find. It's been awhile since I acquired a new Review dress and I've missed them (while I've been cheating on Review with Kitten D'Amour). I adore the different colour combinations for this dress; the options are completely endless.

image1 (2)Last weekend I helped my sister move into my house as she's staying with us for a few weeks before going overseas. It was a such a major and exhausting task but the one benefit was being able to take pretty pictures by the waterside. I love it when my outfit pictures are in this location; see also here and here. I'm so sad that she no longer lives here as this will be my last set of photos in this location (I told her to stay but she didn't listen). I'm happy with the way these pictures turned out and I especially love how red my hair looks. I can't believe the sunny weather; it's hard to believe it was the middle of winter (but unfortunately not every day is so beautiful at the moment). I've been looking forward to showing you my Emerald Green Dita Cardigan from Wheels and Dollbaby. I cannot believe how highly sought after these cardigans have become and the prices that are commanded by some of the rarer colour. Unfortunately I only discovered Dita Cardigans recently so I missed out on all the past collections over the years. But I was so happy that my new love for Dita Cardigans coincided with the release of the Emerald Green version. The peter pan collar and the velvet detailing is the stand out feature for me (I was so shocked and excited when I received it and found out the buttons and tie at the neck tie are velvet). The box it came in was amazing, so large and decorative that this truly is a luxury cardigan. I was pleased with the emerald shade. I have a number of green pieces and always enjoy wearing the colour. I wish Wheels and Dollbaby would release more colours but unfortunately that's not going to be for awhile. There are an endless number of outfit choices for the Dita Cardigan and I thought my skater skirt from Forever New was a perfect match. It's hard to find skirts this shape and in such structured material so that's what I love about. The skirt is also reversible so I'll have to wear the white version some time. It's part of a matching separates set so I'll also have to show you the top also.

The release of the new Dolce Vita collection at Kitten D'Amour has been long anticipated. I saw the previews a number of months ago and new it would have some of the most beautiful pieces ever. However, even by those standards, I never expected to love this pretty lace dress quite as much as this. I tried it one a few days ago and it was even better than it appeared in the pictures. The lace is so gorgeous, I love the black detailing and the silhouette is very flattering; I tried a petticoat underneath which added even more impact. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I'm sure it's worth the price but I have never spent so much on anything before. I do have a couple of more formal events coming up towards the end of the year so that would give me the excuse to spend money; you know what I am like!

Kitten D'Amour Dolce Vita Dress
I never expected this dress to be one of my favourites when I went to view the new collection. However, I tried it on and it's one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen. Wow. The deep red lace contrasting detailing is such a unique and special feature. I also love the bow detailing, the buttons and the silhouette. Again I wish it was less expensive beacause I'd love to somehow add it to my wardrobe. I hardly ever wear black so it takes something extra amazing to make me want to introduce black to my style. The only issue I had when trying on this dress was the length. It's well below the knee and it would be difficult to hem with the quality material and tulle underskirt. I know this style of dress looks good when longer but I'm not as comfortable with that in comparison to above the knee length; it also doesn't give me as many options or dressing it down and wearing flats. However, if money was less of an object, this would be the second Dolce Vita piece I'd buy. I wish the cutout lace feature could be present on more clothes.

There isn't possibly a dress which is more my style than a polka dot dress. It's always at the top of my wishlist no matter how many I have; it's great that different coloured and sized dots are capable of making each piece unique. The black and white is so classic and beautiful. I love the high shine material, sweetheart neckline and tulle underskirt; there are all my favourite features of a dress.

Review Bon Voyage Jumper
I've always been a fan of the nautical look so I'm always drawn to pieces of this nature. There's also a dress at Review which is nautical inspired that I love at the moment. The stand out anchor motif is an amazing feature and the red stripes on the sleeves are a lovely touch. It's a little more casual than what I usually wear but I like that, especially since it's winter and there's often nothing better than a cosy jumper.

Pinup Girl Clothing always impresses me with the range of unique, fun and adorable bags. I seriously need this My Little Pony Bag in my life- rainbow, MLP and holographic material is just the best combination. I've also loved the range of Disney character totes bags from Pinup Girl Clothing for ages now; I included the Ariel and Belle versions on my wishlist a while ago.  I noticed there are a few new ones out such as Tinkerbell and Snow White. I most definitely need to get one.

Hi everyone! As you can see I now own the pretty polka dot dress from my last post. I love it so much and it represents my style completely. I adore the sweetheart neckline, the fit and flare silhouette, the classic colour scheme and the high shine material. It also has a layer of tulle underneath which sets it apart from a number of other dresses. I like how versatile this dress is; the shiny material means it would be perfect with heels for a formal event. I also like the length of this dress with flats and it's great to style it for a more every day look. This is how I wore it to work last week. My bag is also relatively new and it's from Guess; if you haven't noticed by now I have such an obsession with Guess bags. I chose this one because it is a classy timeless piece in comparison with many of my other more fun bags. It was tempting to buy it in pink but I went for red for very much the same reason. The size is very practical and, even though you can't tell too well from the pictures, the embossed design on the front makes it look a little like a high end designer bag. It's crazy how many times I have more my Gloria flats from B.A.I.T Footwear. I also have them in black. For the past couple of months I have been alternating between the two colours most days. I am wearing the black version right now. They are very comfortable and I adore the style; I don't think I have ever had so much wear from a pair of shoes before. When they wear out, which probably won't be too far off, I will just have to buy them again; they are undoubtedly a staple for me now. If B.A.I.T Footwear ever bring them out in any other colours I would have to buy them immediately!

My Gloria flats have been even more of a benefit lately as I've been unable to wear heels for the past two and a half weeks. I've torn the ligaments in my ankles from running. I'd only been back into running for a few weeks when the injury occurred and I'd been really enjoying going to the gym. I was feeling great to be having a healthier lifestyle and increasing the distances and improving my times made me feel so good. But I definitely over did it. I was running five times a week; in my first week back I ran a 7km and then a 9km in only my third week back. It was too much stress on my ankles and now I am paying the price. It's been very painful and inconvenient; getting to work and dealing wit public transport has been so difficult. I can finally walk properly and at a normal pace again but the swelling I still have really concerns me. I miss my high heels and my running. I am trying to keep positive because I'll be able to get back into it eventually.

P1170702I have another pattern mixing outfit to show you today. There hasn't been much variety in my posts lately but I've been really busy and outfit posts are often the fastest to create. I also love fashion more than makeup and I have a few new outfits to show, so I guess many outfit posts makes sense anyway.  This is my most worn dress at the moment. The bicycle print is really sweet and unique. I love how there is netting underneath which creates a lovely vintage silhouette, but at the same time it's not as excessive as some of my dresses which makes it very wearable for every day. The cut out design is new for me; I often go for other necklines in Kitten D'Amour dresses but I now love this one too. This is an old design from Kitten D'Amour which I purchased from the Kitten D'Amour Buy, Swap and Sell Facebook group. I'm so pleased I joined the group. I can find designs I've never even seen before and which are even more limited that the designs currently sold in the stores. Despite many of the pieces commanding a very high price, this dress was an absolute bargain so I'm very lucky for that. I also found a very reputable seller so I look out for her for sale posts.

As you can see I'm really into pattern mixing at the moment. Unintentionally today's outfit appears to almost be a reverse of the outfit in my last post. Bicycle print and polka dots is probably quite a unique combination! I am also super in love with my glitter flats at the moment. During the course of my ankle injury I valued my pretty collection of flats when I couldn't wear heels. This particular pair are new from one of my recent ASOS orders. They were an absolute bargain; I can't believe some of the reductions available on ASOS in the sales. I'll show you a number of my recent purchases most likely in my next post; can't believe I haven't done a 'New In' post for so long.

I'm going to try and return to running tomorrow. My doctor has advised that I'm allowed to run again; I'm so scared in case I injure my ankles again but I missed it while I was recovering. I'm going to have to take it extremely slow and not worry about the time/distance (which certainly doesn't come naturally to me) because the pain and inconvenience of my ankle injuries is not something I'll easily forget.

image1This set of photos are from the weekend before last when I was out with my husband. We also took Gerald who is my giraffe. I love him so much, he's heatable and very warm and cosy especially for a cold day! He makes a valuable contribution to the photos.

The dress I'm wearing here, in addition to the bicycle print dress from my previous post, are my favourite dresses at the moment; I seem to wear them almost on rotation. This dress is from Kitten D'Amour's latest collection called Serendipity. The collar is just gorgeous; I love big collars but they can be difficult to find on clothes. The floral print is completely my style and I love the touch of the velvet with the bow. I adore the shape of this dress, it's the perfect fit and flare for everyday. It's also very comfortable. I'm always posting about how much I love the clothes at Kitten D'Amour on my blog but I'm not a total advocate for the store. There's actually so much which annoys me about the brand. The main issue is the pushy staff. I know a number of stores like this, however Kitten D'Amour is the extreme. There are certain staff members which are worse than others. A few of the girls are fine. I like them a lot and I'll definitely visit the store when they are working. But there are a few that I have to avoid now. It's mainly the issues while attempting to try on the clothes. I don't like being asked every minute if I can come out and show the staff what I look like in the clothes, it' s even before I've had the chance to put on the first outfit. I've had times where the staff will actually open the curtains of the change room and just come in if I'm taking too long or haven't shown them what I look like yet. I really really object to this! I've often had to shop online if I really want something and know that the pushy staff members are the only ones working at the time. But that's my other point- the postage takes about a week and a half to come. It's only domestic postage and I live in a centralised location; it even takes four days for the order to be packaged and sent to the post office. I think we, as bloggers (and also customers) should be honest about our experiences with a store. I give Kitten D'Amour a lot of time on my blog (not to mention all the free advertising!) so if there are aspects of the brand which don't impress me I'd like to share them also so I'm providing a complete view.

P1170768Now onto another brand which I have even more of an issue with and that is Guess. The Guess bag which appears in my photos below is extremely sub-standard quality. I was so happy when I found this bag as it's a good size and a beautiful colour (marigold yellow bags can be difficult to find). However, within the first week of use the handle snapped. I then obtained a replacement bag. However, I absolutely could not believe it when the exact same thing happened, this time within only four days. I was extra extra careful with the second bag and it broke even more quickly. These are expensive bags. My was bought at a discount but for the retail price of $169.95 this is terrible. I'm very disappointed as I've always loved Guess and most of my bags are by this brand. However, experiences like this change my opinion and I don't want to buy any more Guess bags for now.

Now onto a more positive fashion experience. I absolutely love coloured tights at the moment and I can't believe I've only just introduced them into my wardrobe. I had thought about it many times before but never felt like I could make it work. I started off with the pair I'm wearing in this post and then last week become more daring when I purchased a number of coloured tights in the end of winter sale at H&M. I now have purple, red, blue, green, mustard and white. In addition to the pair in this post, my favourites are the red and the blue. I love wearing them because they are so warm and cosy. I like to think they often add to my outfits. I've seen coloured tights worn frequently on other blogs but almost never 'in real life,' so I like that unique aspect too.
